LSCM 1001 - Logistics Fundamentals 

Logistics is the process of getting goods and services from the source of supply or origin, to the final consumer. In this course we will look at the complex activities that make up this process, such as transportation, inventory control, warehousing, international logistics, and supply chain management, and how they are inter-related. The course will show how information systems connect all these activities, with the goal of providing the best customer service at the least cost.

bullet Explain the relationships and trade-offs that happen between the various sectors in logistics
bullet Explain the importance of customer service and how it can provide a competitive edge
bullet Understand the importance of technology and its role in logistics and supply chain management

Prerequisites: Secondary School Diploma (with credits at or above the general level) or equivalent, or mature status. Must have access to a personal computer with Internet access and an email address.

Background: Work experience in logistics or supply chain functions, or general business experience.
